What We Do
At Shelby County Humane Society, we provide low-cost, high quality spay and neuter services to the community in an effort to reduce the number of homeless animals.
In addition to spaying and neutering animals, we also provide a safe haven for companion animals needing shelter, food, medical care and a chance for a new life.

Shelby County Loves Us!
Amazingly well-maintained. You can feel the love Radona, the manager, and the team have put into this place. All the animals here are sweet, gentle, and well cared for. I wish all shelters could look as lovely as this one. Both times I visited, the place was spotless and clean. Well done!

They were clean. Animals were cared for properly. The employees were very helpful and friendly. The cats are tested for everything and the employees straight up tell you if something is wrong with the cat. I didn’t deal with them on dogs but I would assume it’s the same. I will not get a cat from any place but there. They want you and the animal to be a good match and work.

I highly recommend the spay & neuter program. My boy just got neutered today and I’m amazed at how clean the incision is. I’ve seen some rough incisions but the vet here really knows what they’re doing! My buddy isn’t swollen, irritated, nothing. He’s actually acting as if he didn’t even have a surgery today. No pain meds either. Super good job by the vet!

This is a very clean and well run operation. I support SCHS with regular donations, and recommend any and all cat lovers to do the same.

I couldn’t ask for better service and care I got from the staff for my pet. He was neutered there and gets his yearly tags there too. This place is the best! Very gentle with him when he gets his shots and it’s very affordable for anyone.
